Coast and Valley Oil Recyclers is a family business, one of the original collectors of used motor oils in Australia, established in 1977. Our customers trust us to properly handle their used oil recycling needs and with our used oil collecting trucks, we are out pumping oil every week day. Our servicing areas are between Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle Hunter Region.
The used oil collection service fee is $110 per service for volumes less than 600 litres, unless the oil is contaminated, this will then need to be a job quote.
Tracking is given with each service and must be kept as proof of disposal by a licensed operator.
As part of our service we can also remove your used oil filters (a special drum is supplied to seal the filters for safe transport – $88 per drum) and any other scrap metal.
Our licensed operators are equipped to remove your used oil and filters/scrap in one service.
By appointment only, our Berkeley Vale depot is open to the public to empty out your waste oil – no petrol, water, coolant or plastic / just hydrocarbons – for a Gold Coin Donation to the Coast Shelter. (we will also accept your used filter with your waste oil, with a gold coin donation to the coast shelter).
Used motor oil is hazardous. Motor oil picks up a variety of hazardous contaminants when used in engines and transmissions. If used motor oil and the contaminants it contains are disposed of inappropriately and released into the environment, they can harm humans, plants, animals, fish and shellfish. Coast and Valley Oil Recyclers have spent over 40 years making sure your waste oil and filters are being recycled in an environmentally friendly way.
Used filters hold a lot of oil and should be stored out of the weather at your site, in our 205 metal drums with lid. When full, organise a collection of your used filters with your next waste oil pump out.
NOTE – All packaging from the filters goes into your general trash bin, no rubbish, rags, rubber, plastic, lunch packaging, glass or anything else that is not a used filter to be mixed with the used filters, otherwise further charges will be incurred.
A: Used oil, or ‘sump oil’ as it is sometimes called, should not be thrown away. Although it gets dirty, used oil can be cleaned of contaminants so it can be recycled again and again. There are many uses for recycled used oil.
Industrial burner oil, where the used oil is dewatered, filtered and demineralised for use in industrial burners;
Mould oil to help release products from their moulds (e.g. pressed metal products, concrete);
Bitumen based products;
An additive in manufactured products; or
Re-refined base oil for use as a lubricant, hydraulic or transformer oil.
Once you have taken your used oil to our Berkeley Vale collection facility, we take the used oil and undertake some pre-treatment and recycling of the used oil and sell it to specialised used oil refiners or industry.
A: Waste oil filters hold a lot of oil even after you might drain them, this oil would be harmful to the environment so do what you can to retain the oil in a metal container and drop off at our Berkeley Vale site free of charge with your waste motor oil. All the packaging that the filters come in go into your normal trash bin. Store the used filter in a reusable container or a metal coffee tin.
A: Absolutely not, only the finest quality and naturally produced base lubricants are used to produce our outstanding range of world class oils. Just like Mother Earth we don’t like to rush things either, so we take the time to ensure that all our products we distribute are tested for quality to ensure that you – the end user, can spend less time worrying about your oil.
